Description
Two red-eared sliders in Gay, WV, are looking for a fenced-in backyard pond or a 75 gallon aquarium (or larger) to call home. They can be adopted seperately (if going to an aquarium) or together (if going to a pond). They are 7-8" red-eared sliders. A large aquarium(75 gallons or larger) would work for indoor housing for one. They lost thier first home because their keeper was in the military and had to deploy over seas. Gay is about 30 miles north of Charleston, and about 120 miles south east of Columbus, OH. Sliders grow to be 6-12" long, and can live 20-50 years. They eat commercial turtle or koi pellets, and also like aquatic plants, so a slider is not for you if you want to keep expensive water lilies. Some people build underwater plant corrals to protect their lilies while still having aquatic turtles. A slider might take a fish or two, but usually sliders and fish learn to co-exist, especially if you have underwater hiding areas for the fish and/or turtles.
