For Sale is a 40" wide by 45" tall Antique Oak Rolltop Desk , very early 1900s , made by H. L. Himmel and Sons in Baltimore Maryland.

The dimensions are :

Base is 41.5 inch wide x 32 inches deep

Top shelf is 41.5" x 13"

Desktop is 31" off the ground

Chair space is 25.5" wide x 31" tall


There is a plywood section in the back between the left leg stand section and right drawer base, all the rest appears to be orginal wood. It does not look like it has been refinished, but definately is in usable condition. The rolltop section is complete, the backing is getting frail but the wood is all there and original. All the drawers are there and original.

I googled the H. L. Himmel and Sons company, there is not alot about them, but I believe they were Mennonite, Baltimore based, around circa 1915, and ran a Furniture Company and Mail order business. I found a similar condition rolltop desk by Himmel and Sons that sold at auction a few years back for $2500, so I feel this price is very reasonable.
