Pit Bull Terrier - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog - Angel
Description
Angel came to us thanks to a wonderful person, one of our dear volunteers named Emily Bishop who has been doing her own Pit bull rescue in DC for some time now. Emily lives in Washington DC with her husband and 3 Pit bulls one of which is a foster dog named Bebe.Emily talked with me about Angel many months ago and Recycled Love decided that we needed to concentrate our efforts on dogs in Baltimore and we could not extend ourself out to DC and start helping there.Emily was very persistant and I thank her for this. She talked to me about Angel and her home environment and why we really needed to help her.Angel lived in a low income household with two other dogs, Max a male Pit bull and a 3 month old puppy pit bull, this is one of Angels babies. Angel is about 5-6 years old and has has about 6 litters each with about 12 puppies. She is exhausted, extremely under weight, has never been walked at all. She has lived all those years in a basement having litter after litter with no end in sight. The family that owned Angel is a typical example of so many homes that have pit bulls in order to mate them and be able to sell their offspring at a good price in the streets. This is extra income that will come into the household. When people are having trouble finding jobs or having the skills to get a good paying job, unfortunately things like this will happen. We are not here to criticize this family, they represent a big population that needs help. Recycled Love is a very small organization and we focus on helping one dog at a time, we will also help one family at a time. Our goal is to have Max the male dog neutered, take the puppy into our rescue and start educating the family and give them incentives in order for them to take good care of Max the dog that they want to keep. This is a perfect example of what happens all over the inner cities, Baltimore and DC. Half of the time you will not even know dogs like Angel exist since they are kept always indoor in basements and they rarely go out.Angel entered Recycled Love Rescue on Sunday, April 29 2009. She jumped into Emily's car and did not turn around to look back once. Angel is now at Academy Animal Hospital where she will get treated and get spayed. We will update you on every step of her rehabilitation and Journey into finding a wonderful loving home that will care for her and give her a life that she deserves. We are looking for a foster home for Angel, she is very loving and has an amazing spirit. She is also small in size. She loves people. One can see that she carries in her eyes all the hardship that she has lived through. It is amazing that she is able to look forward and cherish her present moment and is very happy just by being alive and being part of this world. Angel is someone we can all learn from. Please contact Recycled Love for more information on Angel or if interested in fostering/adopting her! Thank you!!!
