Since adopting her five years ago, I have developed a cat allergy that has gotten steadily worse, and, sadly, I'm no longer able to care for her.Spark is one of the friendliest and most loving cats you will ever meet. When people come to visit, she jumps on their laps and makes herself at home. She's very playful and affectionate. Her favorite activities are lap sitting, playing, snuggling under blankets and hanging out in her kitty condo. She has no behavioral issues and is a very chilled out cat. She would do best with a cat-sibling, or in a household where people are often around. She's black, around seven years old, and FIV+. FIV, felineimmunodeficiency virus, cannot be transmitted to humans, but it is recommended that FIV+ cats are separated from cats that do not have FIV. On a day-to-day basis, her care is no different from regular, non-FIV+ cats. I have not had higher than usual medical issues with her. It is my understanding most FIV+ cats die of other causes, but that when they get terminally ill, it progresses more quickly because their immune system is compromised. Please contact me at chanabdc@yahoo.com if you can adopt her or pass this information to anyone you think might be interested. Thank you!(Washington, DC Area)IGNORE BELOW* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ADOPTION INFORMATION!All of our cats have been altered, received age-appropriate vaccinations, have been tested for Feline Leukemia, are microchipped and have been treated for parasites.
