Cockatiel - Small - Adult - Male - Bird - Captain
Description
Captain is a wonderful special needs cockatiel. He was turned in with 16 other cockatiels when the owner decided they had too many. Captain is the explorer of the group - first out of the cage to sit on the door and sing, with the occasional flight around the room. He absolutely loves to climb, the higher the better, and loves stringy toys with beads that he can chew. Singing is also a specialty. He would probably be quick on the uptake for learning to whistle tunes as he quickly incorporated noises from the resident finches and parakeets into his everyday song. We would like to see him adopted as a friend for another tiel or with one of is siblings as he becomes upset when separated from them. Captain is missing his lower left beak and his bottom mandible was broken. We believe the beak was bit off while he was young by another cockatiel as the beak and mandible are both healed and show no signs of scarring. Captain eats Roudybush pellets fine (has some trouble with certain sized seeds), but the missing piece has caused his bottom and top beaks to overgrow so they will need constant beak trims. He is very good for these trims and adopters can easily be taught how to trim and dremmel his beak, or he can be taken to a vet for routine beak trims Please Click for An Application
