We (Saleem & The Music Lovers) are a hip-hop band who formed in December 2005 and have been performing together since April 2006. We merge the live band tradition with elements of modern hip hop. We have performed extensively at local hip-hop clubs Sonar, The New Turntable Club (both on the Baltimore City Paper's shortlist for best hip-hop clubs in the city), as well as clubs throughout the Md, DC, and New Jersey area. We have opened for De La Soul, Common, Talib Kweli, KRS-1, Rakim, Guru, Slick Rick, The Wu-Tang Clan, Little Brother, and Fertile Ground to name a few. We are looking for a keyboardist preferably with a background in jazz/hip-hop--although we are quite flexible. Most of all, we just want to connect with someone who's creative, committed, and loves music. Compensation discussed with management on a per gig basis.
